Erin Moore - Owner/Head trainer
I qualified as a dog trainer in South Africa in 2004. I wanted to expand my experience working with positive reinforcement with dogs and moved to Canada in 2007 to do so. I owned and operated a successful dog walking business for a number of years, during which I connected with dog*tec and became an instructor for their Dog Walking Academy in 2013. In 2015 I became a Dogsafe Canine First Aid Authorized Instructor. I have a passion for raising my dogs as naturally, holistically and positively as possible, and love being in a career that allows me to help people and their dogs develop strong bonds and relationships, positively!
Piper & Boone
We are quite possibly the happiest border collies on the planet. We spend our time training our mom, doing Nose Work, being her assistants in her workshops, hiking, swimming, chasing each other and the ball, and generally enjoying our life. We think mom has the best job in the world, because it means we get to hang out with her all the time!
Our Training Philosophy
Connect don't Correct
We believe that it is our responsibility as people, wanting dogs to share our lives, to learn how to communicate with them in a way that they understand; to learn what they are trying to tell us, and to help them fit into our world, as we learn to fit into theirs.
We believe they deserve to be treated with respect, kindness and patience, and our training philosophy of positive reinforcement follows this belief. There are many different ways to reward a dog, toys, play, praise and food, to name a few. We use food rewards in our classes because this method has been proven to accelerate the learning process for dogs. Our goal is to make the classes fun and rewarding for both you and your dog, so that you both want to continue to work together.
We fully believe (and our dogs and students prove it) that training can be fun as well as educational and effective.
